Birmingham Airport has set out a £2bn draft masterplan that could increase annual passenger numbers to around 30 million over 15 years.
The proposals would use the existing runway while expanding passenger facilities and improving transport access.
Public consultation
The airport announced the draft on 8 October. It plans an eight-week consultation, with the first public event in Hampton-in-Arden on 16 October and 20 events in total.
Residents and organisations will be able to respond online, by post or at events. Details are available on the airport's masterplan website.
Investment remains a proposal
A first development phase could begin in 2027, covering baggage facilities, aircraft stands, terminal facilities and surface access.
The airport says delivery depends on a stable tax and regulatory environment. These are draft proposals, not completed works or guaranteed investment.
A report in 2027 is planned to explain the feedback and how it has influenced the final plan and funding commitments.
