Solihull's latest draft Local Plan is moving towards a six-week public consultation after being endorsed by Full Council, the council has announced.

In its newsletter on Friday 9 October, Solihull Council said councillors had backed the draft on Tuesday, enabling the next stage of the plan-making process.

Residents asked to watch for consultation details

Residents, businesses and organisations are being encouraged to take part before the plan is submitted to the Secretary of State for independent examination.

The newsletter did not give a consultation opening date or deadline. It asked people to look out for details over the coming weeks, so this announcement should not be read as confirmation that responses can already be submitted.

The council says the Local Plan is intended to manage growth while protecting the borough's character and providing homes and jobs.

A draft, not an adopted final plan

Full Council's endorsement enables the process to move forward. The draft still faces public consultation and independent examination.

The council's Emerging Local Plan page contains background documents and information about the preparation of the new plan.
